Written in my junior year, this was one of my first community-wide stories. While my previous pieces focused on Hagerty-centric topics such as school events, this was a statewide development and an important topic to cover. I enjoyed speaking to upperclassmen about their experiences voting and how youth involvement could impact the election cycle. In addition to earning me my first Best of SNO in news writing, this story sparked my interest in politics coverage.
